Fellowship Life's first worship service . . . and beyond

December 02, 2011

Fellowship Life Bible Church's public presentation drew a dynamic crowd of about 200 worshippers at Gilberts Elementary School on November 6. Prayer, worship in singing, preaching of the Word and excellent after-service fellowship highlighted the day.

Pastor Ty Gooch talked about the day: It was amazing! There were excited people looking for a church where they could experience transformation in Christ, find a place to serve and join a simple church compelled in sharing the gospel. We heard a lot of heartfelt expressions like, 'We've found our home,' 'How can I serve,' and 'This is what we've been looking for.'

Since the November 6 service, which included many well-wishers, the church has settled into a consistent gathering of 100 or so worshippers every Sunday, including quite a few children.

The Sunday worship service is staffed with servants in every role required for set-up, tear-down, hospitality, babies and children, greeters, ushers, worship team, media and all else required for focused worship of the Lord. Also in place are weekly life group leaders for men, women and youth. Leadership and shepherd training are in the planning stages.

The church is looking good for strong growth from here as it focuses on three core values:

  • Transformed in Christ (Romans 12:2);
  • Engaged in Serving (Matthew 20:28);
  • Compelled in Evangelism (1 Thessalonians 2:8).
